Its also a nice bike to customize, some people dont like the full cage on a sport tourer but i love it for bags, and future lights. Lots of little luxuries for a budget sport tourer. Gobs of power and fun, you sit up high so you can see around you (and be seen) and the stock led lights are pretty good. The clutch is more annoyance then issue, the stock one is fine! But the slipper upgrade it a choice though at least. The stock stuff is fine, as with most stock suspensions, but if you want more choice, there are tons of options since this is basically the same thing as a fz09 or xsr 900. Very spongy for a heavy guy with stock options. The stock suspension should be perfect for you! Im a big guy at 250+, so i needed the upgrade desperately. I hear a slight rattle when its cold but the second its at operating and oil has circulated, its good to go. The bike has a light rattle until you get going then its gone, some people have had an issue and some dont. Older guy probably didnt beat on it either hahaĪs for the CCT, yea, just keep an ear on it. I got mine with 7k miles for around ~7500 ish out the door with new tires. Thank you so incredibly much for the info! This is super helpful! I’ll definitely get on that forum!!

Does that sounds reasonable? I’m researching and it seems about what they go for. It’s a 2015, 6500 miles, super clean (owned by an older guy), with 3 hard bags included and the ecu flash Will do a skid plate since they’re not as expensive and it could cause a catastrophic failure! Sounds like maybe a new clutch later down the road but I couldn’t afford one rn. How would I tell if the cam chain tensioner was bad? Maybe it’d be obvious. What was your issue with the suspension? Curious if I could dial it in stock with my weight.Ībrupt throttle was one of my worries about the bike so sounds like that’s smoothed out!! Upgraded suspension sounds nice, it just wouldn’t make sense right away as far as money goes. I weigh roughly 150lbs, so not a big guy. I know there’s a ton of differences between the two! Power, fuel mileage, riding position, but I’ve seen some people put a large windscreen/ bags on them and use them as a comfortable commuter/

I really like the MT10 looks over the fj09 but they’re really hard to find for a good price right now. Hey there! Dang you got an eagle eye on the post!!įrom all the reviews I’ve watched it seems like it could be a good fit for me. Also, Whats the price, condition and mileage? All the good and bad for this bike is in here. GET A SKID PLATE ASAP, the oil pan has a low hanging metal bit that is known to catch on curbs and blow out your oil pan.īut overall come by the forum sometimes and take a look at some threads. Watch out for failing CCT, A rattly clutch is normal due to the little rubber bits being too small on the basket, no damage is caused but it sounds a little rough, you can easily replace the whole system with a slipper clutch from the newer mt09/xsr900 bikes. Plenty of power to keep up with the pack, comfort for long days ( Comfort seat could be used, once again depends on you and your preference. You already have a good ecu flash so your one step ahead with the snatchy fueling issues these had. I went with a ohlins rear and gp suspension carts. I havent rode two up yet but it felt way more capable with the new rear shock.ĭepending on your weight though I would immediately upgrade the rear shock and front carts, or have the forks revalved/appropriate springs for your weight. My insurance costs are low, 25M living in Massachusetts, USA. Its comfortable, great power, good fuel economy, awesome standard features like the adjust windscreen and power outlet, drive modes, traction control and abs. Join us on Discord!
